Advisor

Jerome Mugambi is a resilience strategist, mental health tech founder, and blockchain educator with a multidisciplinary background that spans business, emerging technology, and trauma-informed innovation. He holds a Master of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MBET) from the University of Waterloo and an undergraduate degree in Business Technology Management and Finance/computer science from Acadia University, where he was a three-time Academic All-Canadian and earned over 25 scholarships for academic and athletic excellence.

A former semi-pro basketball player and corporate consultant, Jerome’s trajectory changed dramatically in 2022 when he survived a near-fatal motorcycle accident. The two-month hospital stay, multiple torn ligaments, internal bleeding, and long-term rehabilitation forced him into deep introspection — and ultimately, reinvention.

Out of that crucible came Open Up, his mental health startup focused on anonymous community support and verified safe spaces. It’s built at the intersection of technology, storytelling, and human-centred design — and aims to help a billion people feel seen, supported, and emotionally sovereign.

Jerome is also a blockchain researcher and early crypto adopter, having integrated smart contract logic and tokenomics models into past ventures. His work blends the emotional precision of mental health with the technical acumen of Web3 and AI. He is currently building investor readiness kits and a roadmap for mental health platforms that are interoperable with emerging identity and reputation systems.

Through talks, content, and coaching, Jerome helps emerging healthcare leaders understand the power of narrative, resilience, and digital innovation — not just to treat patients, but to radically reshape the system itself
